For the World Food Day assignment, I searched about Russia's activity on the internet. Unfortunately, I could not find much about Russia's activity itself due to the flooding information of Russia-Ukrain war related articles, but that is also a strongly relevant topic when it comes to world hunger. Thus, I am going to introduce you all what I found during my research.
Is Russia helping world hunger?
As of 2023, the answer was no as far as I researched. Russia's Ukraine invasion has largely disrupeted world's trading, along with the reduction of agricultural production in Ukraine. This could have or maybe even did damage the economy and food distribution in vulnerable countries related to this trading. At the United Nation's Security Council, Russia was pressured to revive Ukrainian grain shipments and avert the global food crisis by developing countries, western nations and even its ally China. However, Russia didn't give any effort to make things better. Instead they blamed United Nation or failing to overcome the obstacle of shipping food and fertilizers to global markets.
Is there any World Food Day related activities in Russia?
There was no particular activities that I could found for 2023, although there are some blogs posted by individuals.
